A LACQUERED 'SUZURIBAKO' BOX FOR WRITING UTENSILS, of rectangular form, decorated in gold and black 'maki-e' together with natural wood, relief decorations made of pottery depicting 'kusudama' flowers and a kitten playing with golden strings, the interior of 'nashiji' with cranes at a pond and water plants, with ink stone and water dropper, probably executed by Miura Kenya (1821-1889), 19th century, c. 22 x 19.5 cm
