Löwendahl: China illustrata nova. Supplement, 1836.
The collection in 1877 was primarily comprised of the Foler Hull bequest (1842), volumes presented by Queen Victoria (1843), and the collection of John Robert Morrison (1814-1843), amounting to 11,500 volumes, which were purchased by the governement and presented to the museum in 1847. By the year of publication, the collection had reached a total of over 20,000 Chinese volumes.
