4to (c. 230x180 mm.). (8), 210, (1) pp. Illustrations by W. Denslow.
Original green cloth, illustration pasted on front board, titles to spine in black. With the dustjacket and paper band (binding with very slight wear to extremities, upper part of spine slightly rubbed, dustjacket with some wear and minor tears to lower part of front jacket, small loss to lower front, wear to extremities, the paper binding worn with a paper loss).
Complete with the 6 full colour printed pages containing the "waddle toys", all 6 figures (Dorothy, Toto, the Scarecrow, the Tin Man, the Lion, and the Wizard) intact and unused (not punched out from the page), two of the figure-pages not attached to the book. The "Yellow Brick Road" intact in the instruction envelope at rear together with the brass waddle fittings in a smaller envelope (envelope with slight wear to corners, small hole to bottom and small tear to the right side). First free endpaper with inscription in Swedish, otherwise bright and clean interior.
First edition of this waddle book edition, first state, with publisher's imprint at foot of spine. A fine and complete copy of this rare children's toy book with all the six waddle figures intact and still not detached from the paper frames. The readers were meant to take the figures and make them into three-dimensional models, place them on runway (Yellow Brick Road), and they would move or "waddle" down on their own.
Rare in this fine and complete condition.
