All lots are placed in a viewing before the sale, in our rooms in Stockholm. Every lot is marked with a lot number, estimate and a short description. The estimate is only a preliminary valutation and therefore the lot may be sold over or under the estimate. Catalogues are published on Internet.
To be able to bid you must be a client of Stockholms Auktionsverk. New customers must apply not later than 24 hours before auction starts. Please note that applications for Internet bidding takes minimum 48 hours to handle. All applications must contain a satisfactory reference to your bank, credit card No, another client of ours or another well known auction house.
Fill in the lot number and the highest amount that you are willing to pay on the bidding slip which can be collected in our auction rooms. Customert services will then bid on your account up to the amount which you have submitted, but never higher than is needed. This means that you have the possibility to buy significantly lower than your maximum bid, provided that no one bids against you and that the reserve is lower than your maximum bid. Absentee bids may be left with Customer Services or mail, email@example.com, not later than 5pm the day before the auction.

Bidding in the sales room
A paddle for bidding may be collected from Client Services. Some form of identification and reference will be required. Bidding is executed by raising the paddle so that the auctioneer may see it clearly. If you give the last bid, the lot is registered with your paddle number and you will be the buyer. This bid is the hammer price.
Bidding by telephone
Customers living outside Stockholm who wish to bid by telephone should make a request in writing to Customer Services not later than one day before the auction. Some form of reference will be required. The request should specify which lot(s) to bid for and at what telephone number the customer can be reached. When the bidding is about to start for a specified lot a representative of Customer Services will telephone the client who can then bid at the auction through the representative. This service is conditional upon the availability of telephone lines.
Live online bidding
You can also participate in the bidding during the auction for Fine Art & Antiques, Modern Art & Design, Contemporary and Rare Books, Maps & Manuscripts via a computer.
Please observe! To bid 3 MSEK or more via Live Online Bidding requires a special approval. Please contact Client service at firstname.lastname@example.org no later than 24 hours before the auction.
Sales results can be obtained directly after the sales on our website.
Payment should be made 10 working days after the purchase or directly after bidding. In addition to the hammer price a premium of 22,5% incl. VAT is payable. Payment should be made to our account with SEB, BIC: ESSESESS, IBAN SE30 5000 0000 0522 2107 2987. Reference shall always be made to client number and the lot numbers. We accept VISA, MasterCard and Diner's at Nybrogatan 32. Maximum amount for payment by card is SEK 100.000. A 1,5% card fee will be charged for credit card payment. Regrettably we can not accept cash, Eurocheques or foreign cheques.
Purchasers will recieve a written confirmation of purchase after the auction.
Purchased lots may be collected as soon as full payment has been made. The lots should be collected at the latest 10 working days after purchase. For purchases at Fine Art & Antiques, Modern Art & Design, Contemporary separate conditions may apply. Kindly observe that the lots may have to be collected from external warehouses.
