The 112 lot sale includes a selection of important works by leading masters, which for the first time are available on the art market. Several of the important artists have given names to museums such as Zhu Qizhan Art Museum in Shanghai, Lin Sanzhi Art Museum in Nanjing, Cui Zifan Museum of Art in Laixi, Shandong province and the Art Gallery of Sha Menghai in Hangzhou.
The provenance of the collection is exceptional, which is ensuring both for the quality and authenticity. The vendors are famous Swedish scholars. Several objects are collected by the two well reputed professors and former directors of the Museum of Far Eastern Antiquities (MFEA) in Stockholm, Bo Gyllensvärd and Jan Wirgin.
Highly important and unique is the fact that many of the paintings are purchased directly from the artists by professor Lars Berglund, an internationally well-known expert on modern and contemporary Chinese expressionistic ink paintings (da xieyi) and calligraphy (shu fa). Professor Lennart Bogg has contributed with 20 objects which were purchased during meetings with the artists when he was a representative for the United Nations in China.
It is also important to note that many of the exquisite paintings are already introduced to an international public by professor Lars Berglund via extensive articles, literature and films.
