A Celadon and Russet Jade ´Double Gourd´ Carving, naturalistically carved issuing from a gnarled branch bearing long curling tendrils and smaller double-gourds, the stone of a pale celadon colour highlighted with patches of russet skin, 19th century, length c. 12.5 cm, minor nicks

PROVENANCE:
From the collection of the Swedish architect Ernst Uno Borg (1879-1960). Together with Hjalmar Cederström, he founded "Cederströms och Borgs Arkitektbyrå" in 1921. Their most important works include the neoclassical Hågelby mansion, executed for Lars Magnus Ericsson, the founder of the telecom company "Ericsson". The two architects have also designed a large number of Swedish hospitals.
