A Cinnabar Lacquer Circular Box and Cover, carved with various levels of relief to the upper surface of the cover, depicting two elderly scholars and an attendant beneath a pine tree in a mountainous landscape, the sides carved with a fine diaper ground repeated around the sides of the box, the foot encircled by key-fret band, the interior and base lacquered in black, 18/19th century, height c. 9 cm, diameter c. 15 cm, loss of lacquer, cracks
