A Rare Famille Rose 'Cornucopia' Wall Vase, the main body with lobed sides finely painted with a spray of leafy peonies, Qianlong period (1736-1795), height c. 24 cm, wear, restored

NOTE:
The cornucopia, symbolising fertility and wealth, has been a very popular motif in Europe since its first appearance in ancient Greek mythology. It is rare to see a Chinese porcelain example of this design, which is likely to have been inspired by a Lowestoft or Worcester original.
