An Inscribed Limestone Buddhist Triad Stele, of rectangular form, carved with a central Buddha standing on a base with the hands in 'abhaya mudra', flanked by two bodhisattva, the base with three guarding creatures, the back of the stele with an inscription and dated the 3rd year of the Xianheng Reign corresponding to 672 A.D., Tang dynasty, height c. 22 cm

Marked with a handwritten note, referring to lot 704, Catalogue of an exhibition at National Museum in Stockholm, vol III, p. 114

Purchased c. 1900 by the merchant Thorvald Olrog (1840-1928), thereafter by inheritance in the same family.
