A Japanese Satsuma Tripod Censer and Cover, the globular body rising from three cabriole legs, flanked by a pair of upright curved handles, decorated on one side with Arhats and Kanon at a table, the reverse with an interior court scene featuring a couple and small boys at leisure, all surrounded by dense floral design, the cover surmounted with two wrestling Buddhist lions, Meiji period (1868-1912), height c. 48 cm, wear, repairs, cracks
