David Hultmark, Grandfather to the current owner, aquired the painting in 1932-09-14 at the SVENSK-FRANSKA KONSTGALLERIET auction after the Swedish industrialist Ivar Kreuger. Auction catalogue No 10, item 42.
The painting was illustrated in the auction catalogue, sold as an authentic work by Aelbert Cuyp.
EXHIBITED
Exhibited at the Nationalmuseum, Stockholm 3/3 -30/4 1967 "Holländska mästare i svensk ägo" (Dutch old masters in Swedish private collections). In this catalogue, it is written that the painting is mentioned in Hofstede de Groot 2, 1908, no. 348.
