PROVENANCE:
The part dinner service was executed for Baron Reinhold Johan von Lingen (1708-1785)

The service was shipped 1747 from Canton to Sweden by the Swedish East India Company and the supercargo Hans Philip Urlander on the ship 'Cronprinsessan Lovisa Ulrica'. Urlander deceased during the sail, in his estate there was a quittance from the Chinese porcelain-merchant Suqua for the 'von Lingen' dinner service, priced 113 Swedish daler silver-coins

Baron Herman von Lingen (1748-1820), the son of Baron Reinhold Johan von Lingen, inherited the service in 1785. When Herman von Lingen passed away in 1820, the dinner service was described in the inventory of estate.

The part dinner service came into the possession of his relative, Ulrika Helena Posse and her husband Carl Evert Linroth at the manor 'Värmlands Säby'

The magnificent 'von Lingen' service has since 1820's been placed in a large baroque cabinet, at 'Värmlands-Säby', Visnum parish in Sweden. During that time the manor itself has both been inherited and sold at several occasions but the part dinner service has remained intact.
