A Chinese Bronze Figure of Guanyin, the deity is seated in dhyanasana, holding a scroll in her two hands, she is dressed in a long flowing robe draped around her body, decorated on the hems with incised flowers and foliage, she is adorned with necklaces and earrings, the face with fine features portrayed in a meditative expression, all surmounted by a tall and elaborately decorated tiara with her long hair in tresses cascading down either shoulder, traces of red pigment and gold-lacquer, unsealed, later wood stand, late Ming dynasty (1368-1644), height 33 cm, wear, the throne is missing

From a private Danish collection. Purchased from the antique dealer Ole Haslund (1877-1962) in Copenhagen, Denmark, during the mid 20th century
