A HENAN BLACK AND BROWN-GLAZED JAR, the exterior of the bulbous bowl covered with a thick lustrous black/brown glaze stopping above the foot, with a lipped rim, a pair of loop handles at the shoulder, Song dynasty (960-1279), height c. 13 cm

PROVENANCE:
From the collection of the Principal Sture Nydell (1891-1986) and his wife, Valborg Nydell (1905-2003). The vase was purchased at an auction in April 1960 at Bruun Rassmusen, Copenhagen, earlier owned by Louis Foght.
