Oblong small 4to (177x236 mm.). (12), 1-194, (2), 197-424, (2), 427-732, (4, last 3 blank) pp. Engraved title within pictorial border with portraits, coat of arms on recto of third preliminary leaf, 26 engraved maps, 20 of which are fullpage, and 101 engraved fullpage town views (minor foxing).
Contemporary full vellum, somewhat worn, crack in upper part of upper joint, lacks ties, slightly warped covers, spine with title lettered in ink, remnants of paper label, edges painted red and gilt and gauffered to a design of scales containing small stars and caranations. Old annotation on first endpaper. Stamp of "Gräflich v. Landsberg'sche Bibliothek" in upper outer corner of title, in margin of leaf 3A recto and 3E recto.
The illustrations include views of Strassburg, Augsburg, Basel, Bonn, Bremen, Braunschweig, Kassel, Kiel, Köln, Dresden, Emden, Flensburg, Frankfurt am Main, Frankfurt an der Oder, Görlitz, Copenhagen, Hamburg, Nürnberg, Osnabrück, Passau, Prag, Regensburg, Riga, Königsberg, Rostock, Salzburg, Schleswig, Stade, Dortmund, Trier, Tübingen, Wien, Weimar, Wismar, Worms and Breslau.
