Contemporary half calf, slightly worn, slightly gilt spine with title label, red edges. Cut. Title with signature Joh. Westman Jacobsson, and one erased signature. some near contemporary notes and underlinings mostly in Quadrupedia, minor foxing. First free endpaper with owner's note "Högby" dated 1816 and signature dated 1854.

Second edition of Linnaeus famous lecture "Oratio", delivered when he was appointed professor of medicine in Uppsala. First published in 1741. Translated to English: "An Oration concerning the necessity of travellin in one's own country..." (1741).
