8:o. (5), vi-xv, (1 blank), (1)-303, (1 blank) pp. 2 folding engraved plates (all, foxed, some dampstaining on one plate).
Later paper-covered boards, rebacked in cloth. Generally somewhat foxed, particularly at beginning and at end, small waterstain affecting lower corner of last portion of text.
First editiom. Blackmer 1264.
Giuseppe Passalacqua (1797-1865), Italian excavator and collector. The collection is described in the present work, published in Paris to assist the sale of the antiquities to the French governement. When this affair did not get through, he found a buyer in Friedrich Wilhelm IV of Prussia, who bought the collection for the Berlin Museum, where Passalaqua became conservator of the Egyptian collections.
