Contemporary brown full calf, somewhat worn, richly gilt spine in five compartments, red spine-label, redspeckled edges.

Johan Christian Orschall, a Hessian mining official, was in Dresden in 1682 learning the amalgamation process which he later practise in Bohemia. He was mining inspector in Frankenberg 1684-1687 and then dissappeared (got in trouble by polygamy and other irregularities). He is said to have died in a monastery in Poland.
