PRIVILEGES FOR THE TEXTILE GUILD LÜBBEN 1729.
Manuscript on vellum dated 22 Februar 1729 signed duke Moritz Wilhelm zu Sachsen- Merseburg. "Innungs-Privilegium der Garn- und Leinweber zu Lübben". 28 pages, last page blank, in German, in folio (230x330 mm), bound in contemporary red silk binding, inner doblures with marbled paper, partly worn and soiled, antiquarian label from Björck & Börjesson (catalogue 141, lot no 4358), damages to edges, lacking bands, some notes written on upper cover, together with large red wax seal from the duke of Saxe-Merseburg, which is attached with yellow ribbon, seal with some damages to "margin". Manuscript with minor soiling and some spots, first leaf with notes in pencil to margin, and some underlinings.
Renewal of the guild privileges from 1667. Moritz Wilhelm, Duke of Saxe-Merseburg (Sachsen-Merseburg) (1688-1731). Lübben (Lubin) is a town in the area of Spreewald (Brandenburg) in east Germany.
