Large folio (505x365 mm). (22), 87, 73, 61 pp. 2 engraved frontispieces by M. Pool after B. van Overbeke, 1 engraved portrait of the author, 3 titles in red and black with engraved vignette, 33 engraved vignettes of numismatic illustrations, 1 double page engraved map, 146 engraved plates of which 1 double page (all, map and the double page plate of Colusseum somewhat browned and with spotting, some plates with minor spotting or foxing, mostly marginal, 4 plates partly stained or dampstained, last plate with repaired tear, mostly marginal, frontispiece and title with some soiling to margins, mostly good impressions).
Contemporary vellum, partly worn and soiled, boards with some spotting, lower board with staines, spine with title label, upper edge with minor damages, upper outer joint split, red speckled edges. Endpapers reinforced in lower margin.
