Original green blind-stamped cloth, gilt titles and decorations to spine. Some minor bumping to corners of covers and at head and foot of spine. Original brown glazed endpapers. (Bookbinder's label "Bound by Edmonds & Remnants London"). Signature on first endpaper of Carl Stål.
Edition printed i 2000 copies. With single leaf of ads at end.
First edition was published in 1859. This third edition contains some textual changes and additions, it was for example the first edition to contain "Historical Sketch of the Theory".
