4to (about 265x210 mm). Half-title, large folding engraved map, 20 engraved maps and plates of which 7 folding (not complete, lacking 1 engraved sheet of music which is supplied in facsimile, 2 plates trimmed affecting imprint, some occasional spotting and soiling, partly to folds, some offsetting).
Contemporary full calf, slightly rubbed and stained at edges, rebacked, spine gilt with red morocco label (old label loosely inserted), outer end of corners repaired, red edges.

The first commercial voyage to the Pacific North-West with detailed information on the Native Americans and Russians, also on the Sandwich Islands (Hawaii). Printed dedication to Sir Joseph Banks. With large folding maps, plates of people, animals, birds, views etc.
