Contemporary brown calf, worn, cracks in the joints, faded partly damaged richly gilt spine in 7 compartments, marbled edges. Some minor foxing or spotting. Large paper copy.
First edition, the only one to appear in the original language.
Cornelius de Bruyn (1652-1726/28), Dutch traveller and painter. This is his first journey, where he visited Egypt, Syria, The Holy Land, Rhodes, Cyprus, Scio, and Turkey.
