Original brown cloth, worn and faded, blindtooled decorations, faded spines with gilt lettering, uncut. Some cracks or mendings in the hinges. 2 volumes.
See Löwendahl, China illustrata nova 1014 (for the second edition of 1845). Maybe the best account of the Opium War of 1839-1842 with a "complete" account of the colony of Hong Kong. The Nemesis was Britain´s first iron-clad ship.
