4to (225180 mm). (11, 1 blank), 1003, (27) pp. Title with printer´s device in woodcut. With illustrations of 1003 plants in woodcut.
Contemporary vellum, soiled, spotted and worn, split inner joints, some damages to doblures, first free endpaper loose, soiled and damaged, lacking last endpaper. Notes on inside of cover, signature of Per Colliander and his note in Swedish "Boken köpt af F. Matinelli för... år 1838" (The book bought from F. Matinelli for...in 1838) and the note "Liber rarus obvius".
Nissen, BBI 1311, Pritzel 5983, VD16 M-1612 and C-326. First enlarged edition by Joachim Camerarius of Mattioli´s work.. Camerarius used engravings after drawings by Conrad Gessner and they are identical with the ones used in the German translation, "Kreutterbuch", published in Frankfurt the same year.
Second part of the work consist of Francesco Calceolarius or Cazolari: "Iter baldi civitatis Veronae montis..." (history of the journey from Verona to Monte Baldo in search for medical plants).
