Folio (about 360x225 mm.). (2), iii-xxiii (1), (1)-206, (2), iii-vii, (1), 1-291 (partly wrongly paginated), (13) pp. With 28 engraved plates (all, one with small hole in upper margin) and large folding engraved map with outline colour (mended tear).
New brown half leather, spine in 8 compartments. Title browned in the margins, some other foxing and minor staining.
First English edition. Schiötz 816, Nissen 3224, Poggendorff II, 500.
The nice plates depicts among other things, animals, fishes, birds, shells, stones and views.
