AUSTRIAN CHARTER OF NOBILITY. JOSEPH II (1741-11790). Holy Roman emperor, King of Austria and Hungary. Charter of nobility for the family von Stipplin (Joseph Christoph Augustin and Georg Friderich von Stipplin and their sister [Maria Josepha von Stipplin]), ink and print on vellum, 10 pages in folio (about 320x245 mm.), with one full-page coat-of-arms in water-colours, signed by the king. Dated Vienna 17 March 1776.

Red velvet binding, worn and faded, defect or lacking silk ties, some worming on inside of covers, endpapers some damage in upper outer corner, the imperial red seal in a brass casket, attached with a silk lace.

Maria Josepha von Stipplin (1735-1799), married 1770 with Charles Thomas, 3rd Prince of Löwenstein-Wertheim-Rochefort (1714-1789) from 1735.
