8:o. 4 engraved frontispieces (some foxing, offsetting in inner margins from annotation on titles), titles printed in red and black, 4 folding engraved maps (3 with tears, some foxing), 15 partly folding engraved plates (all, some tears in the foldings, some foxing).
Contemporary brown full calf, worn, upper boards detached to vol. I and IV, cracks in the joints, vol. IV cracked in the spine, spines in six compartments, partly defective spine labels, damages at head and foot. Middle of boards with the gilt supraexlibris of The Society of Writers to the Signet in Edinburgh. Some foxing. All titels with an inscription in inner margin "Ex. Lib. Bibl. Seribar. Sig. Reg". Old library sign on inside of upper boards. 5 volumes.
