4to (about 212x152 mm.). 508 ll. (signed [*6] a-z [et] [con] A-Z Aa-Oo8Pp6). 1 woodcut on [*6v]. Printed in red and black in 2 columns and in the middle glossa, 55 sometimes 67 lines.
Later (early 20th century) richly blindtooled brown full calf over wooden boards, blank spine in five compartments, redspeckled edges (bound by Hedberg). Some contemporary marginal annotations, last page with contemporary annotations, pencil annotations on first endpaper and inside of upper board by Victor von Stedingk, his bookplate on inside of upper board. Partly dampstained in lower margin, sometimes affecting text. In a new cloth case.

Johann Froben, in Latin: Johannes Frobenius (and combinations), (c. 1460-1527), famous printer, publisher and learned Renaissance humanist in Basel. He was a close friend of Erasmus and cooperated closely with Hans Holbein the Younger. He made Basel one of the world´s leading centres of the book trade and started printing about 1491.
Sebastian Brant (also Brandt) (1457-1521), German humanist and satirist. He is best known for his satire Das Narrenschiff (The Ship of Fools).
Bernard of Botone (date of birth unknown, d. 1263, or, 1266, a noted Italian canonist of the thirteenth century. He is generally called Bern(h)ardus Parmensis or Bernard of Parma, from his birthplace Parma.
He studied in Bologna, under Tancred, where later he accepted the chair of canon law. According to the inscription on his tombstone he was Chancellor of the University of Bologna. Bernard obtained a canonry in the Cathedral of Bologna, and was also named chaplain to Pope Innocent IV and Pope Alexander IV, by whom he was employed for solving questions of weight. (Wikipedia)
