Small 4:o (about 225x172 mm.). (16), 1-296, (2), (1)-200, (2), 201-501, (1 blank), (2), 503-830, (2 blank) pp. 4 titles printed in red and black with engraved vignette (1 slightly dampstained), 1 folding printed table, 3 folding engraved maps, 1 folding engraved plan, 3 folding engraved plates (all).
Contemporary brown half calf, somewhat worn, somewhat darkened spines in six compartments. Uncut. About 40 leaves in vol. III-IV partly dampstained in lower part or margin, some other minor dampstaining, some foxing and browning. Bookplate of Gösta Nobel. 2 volumes.
Provenance: Gustaf Oscar Ludvig (Gösta) Nobel (1886-1955), youngest son of Ludvig and Edla Nobel, was in Baku between 1914-17 and later took over as Managing Director over Branobel or "The Nobel Brothers Company". The oil company was founded in Baku by his father and the two brothers Alfred and Robert. He and his family had to flee Russia 1918 during the Russian revolution.
