8:o. 16 engraved frontispieces (all, but probably lacking an engraved portrait of the author, 1 loose, 5 with dampstains, 2 with annotation in ink and 2 in pencil in lower margin).
Late 19th century dark red half leather binding, spines in six compartments. 2 leaves with small tears in outer margin. Some dampstaining, mostly marginal, minor foxing, a few leaves at end in some volumes browned. Long annotations concerning the book on endpapers. 8 volumes.
