8vo. (7), VIII-XV (misprint for XIV), (1)-704, 701-766, (12), (11), 12-179, (1), (2), (1)-234, (4) pp. 2 folding engraved maps, 25 partly folding engraved plates, and 2 mounted fabrics (complete, some spotting, 1 plate partly worn in margin).

Half calf from early 20th century, slightly worn, richly gilt spines in compartments and red title labels, upper edge gilt, partly sligthly spotted (Hedberg, Stockholm). Text with some spotting. Bookplate of Gösta Nobel. 2 volumes.

Pritzel 9784 (regarding vol. I), Du Rietz, Bibliotheca Polynesiana 1218, 1228. Very rare complete.

Provenance: Gustaf Oscar Ludvig (Gösta) Nobel (1886-1955), youngest son of Ludvig and Edla Nobel, was in Baku between 1914-17 and later took over as Managing Director over Branobel or "The Nobel Brothers Company". The oil company was founded in Baku by his father and the two brothers Alfred and Robert. He and his family had to flee Russia 1918 during the Russian revolution.
