Near contemporary brown half leather, somewhat worn, partly slightly faded gilt spines, partly mended at head or foot. Later inner doublures and endpapers. Vol. I with small crack in lower part of lower joint, otherwise mended in the joints. A few textleaves with old annotations. Minor foxing. 10 volumes.
Vol. I second edition.
Lacks as often part XI which was published between 1830-43 and consists of 54 plates. In May 1840 a fire destructed most of the nondistributed fascicules of part XI. The planned fascicules 10-12 of part XI were never published.

This magnificent work with handcoloured botanical plates "was esteemed by contemporaries as an enterprise of national importance. Palmstruch´s own illustrations, in the first six volumes, have been characterized as the best pictures of plants ever produced in Sweden, and make this one of the most beautiful of Swedish books." (Sten G. Lindberg). The text was written by the most distinguished botanists of the period: Conrad Quensel, Olof Swartz, G. J. Billberg, Göran Wahlenberg. (Sten G.
