Contemporary green/blue wrappers, worn, defective spine, sewn as issued, entirely uncut, worn in the margins.

In Aleksey Ivanovich Martos´s (1790-1842) account, written in the form of a diary, kept during a journey around Lake Baikal from Krasnoyarsk to Maimaicheng (Alten-bulak) during the winter of 1823-24, he provides a description of nature, life and culture in Eastern Siberia with the focus on Irkutsk.
By the end of the journey, Martos had witnessed culture, life and the outstanding trading skills of the Chinese at Maimaicheng.
