Text below: "Euhun Sang Lum Akao. The Chinese arrived at London in 1793. To Mr. Cha(rle)s Constant de Rebeque, this plate is dedicated by His most h(um)ble & Devoted Serv(ant) H. Danloux".
Danloux, a French painter, came to England on the outbreak of the French Revolution and remained there for 10 years, gaining a high reputation for portraits.
