Original publisher´s gilt cloth, somewhat worn, spine with some damages at head and foot.

The wood engravings were executed by J. D. Cooper after the author´s sketches and photographs.
The British photographer John Thomson (1837-1921) left England for Singapore in 1862, visited Siam and Cambodia in 1865 and set up a studio in Hong Kong in 1868.
