Original green cloth, somewhat worn, slightly faded spine with printed spine label (with manuscript library signum), small damage at head. Some foxing. Old partly erased library stamp on inside of upper board and stamped P in red, also stamped P in red on title. Marked in pencil on first endpaper "Dup".

In 1832 the expedition of Edmund Roberts, composed of the ship Peacock and the schooner Boxer, was sent out to secure treatises with the eastern powers and to protect the interests od American seamen.
