Folio (about 360x270 mm.). 126 full page black and white photographs from around the world by the French photographer Henri Cartier-Bresson (1908 - 2004) finely printed.
Original paper boards with decorations by Henri Matisse, very slightly worn, some bursts in the hinges. 16 page captions booklet loosely inserted, Stamped on first endpaper "Karin & Lars Hall´s Collection Print No....".
First American edition, first printing. English and French versions were published at the same time with same content and same size, but only the American one has the booklet and the dustjacket (the dustjacket lacking here).
Provenance: Lars Hall (1938-2018), prominent in Swedish public relations, designer and art collector, who studied at Konstfack in Stockholm. Hall was an Art Director and one of the founders of the advertising agency Hall & Cederquist AB in 1973. He also started Gallery Camera Obscura and later Lars Hall AB, (art direction and design). He was also an avid collector of books and Fine Art photography.
