Handcoloured engraved cellestial chart which presents the constellations according to Christian symbolism (contemporary colour). C. 435x510 mm. (platemark). Small spot to left hand side (platemark). Framed.
Beautiful celestial chart published in Amsterdam 1708 by Valk and Schenk. The chart first appeared in Andreas Cellarius' atlas "Harmonia Macrocosmica" published in 1660. It is considered to be one of the finest seventeenth-century Dutch celestial atlases produced.
