Als eine Beilage zu diesem Werke herausgegeben. Hefte I-IV [and continued:] Beschreibung und Abbildung der in Deutschland seltener wildwachsenden und einiger bereits naturalisirten Holz-Arten als Fortsezung von den Abbildungen der hundert deutschen wilden Holzarten. Heft I (all published). Stuttgart (auf Kosten der Herausgeber) 1803-1805.

4to (285x225 mm.). With 125 handcoloured (old colour) engraved plates (complete, slight soiling or some slight spotting mostly to margins, a few notes in pencil, 1 plate with small tear to margin, 1 plate with the colour of the berries worn [Der Mehlbeerbaum], text with some slight soiling). The plates are engraved by Gottlob Friedrich Abel and depicts branches, flowers, and seeds. They are also heightened with gum arabicum.
Three contemporary half calf bindings, partly worn, especially to corners, covers with marbled papers, in the middle an oval pink title label in leather surrounded with gilt leaves with title and the owner´s namne, Franz Schönauer, one cover with some worming, richly gilt spines. All three housed in a contemporary leather case with red title label on gilt spine, partly rubbed and with some damages to spine, some worming. Note in German to one of the endpapers.

2nd edition of this illustrated work on forestry with fine plates. The first edtion was published in 1790-94. "Beschreibung und Abbildung der... Holz-Arten als Fortsezung"is here present in the rare first edition.
