Text and plates bound in original green cloth portfolio (usually all text and plates are loose in wrapper).
Contemporary green cloth portfolio with straps, reinforcements of green cloth on inside of covers, red text to cover "F. R. Martin Sibirische Sammlung", spine with new green label, cover partly worn.

An account of Martin´s ethnographical explorations in Siberia in the 1890s, which was his first expedition, funded by the Swedish Society of Anthropology and Geography.
Amongst others there are photos of bows, arrows, fishing gear, snowshoes, clothes etc., many Ostyak artefacts from the Yugan area.
