Contemporary blindtooled pigskin, somewhat worn, spotted, on upper cover blindtooled portrait of Maximilian II, over the portrait the initials B. H. R., under the year 1578 in black, on lower cover blindtooled armorial crest, spine in five compartments, red edges, inner doublure of upper cover damaged. Title torn in right part without textloss. Partly some dampstaining, and foxing, harder on pp. 150-290. Contemporary signature on title. Bookplate of Kristofer Enckell.
