4to. 154 partly double page chromolithograph plates (mostly orchids, some fruits, garden plans, and design for garden buildings), wood-engravings. A few plates damaged from tissue-papers, some spotting.

L´Illustration horticole was a monthly periodical and is by many considered to be one of the finest botanical periodicals of the second half of the 19th century. Jean Jules Linden (1817-98), the editor, was also a orchid grower and collector.
