Worn contemporary renovated brown full leather, rebacked, faded spine in six compartments. Minor foxing. Annotations and signatures on first endpaper.
This book was first published in 1605 as "The Advancement of Learning", and was later translated into latin. The present edition is a translation from a Latin edition.
Provenance according to the annotations: Cost at the The Haywod sale 5, Edw. Johnson London 1798, John Clark, who gave the book to mr. Mortieau.
