Contemporary full calf, blind stamped decoration on covers, spine in six compartements, gilt spine label, redspeckled, somewhat discoloured, edges. Some foxing, some spots. Some leavesa little browned. Tear in outer marginal p. 99.

First printed edition. The book was printed in several editions and was translated to french and dutch. It had a considerable impact on the awareness and view of Sweden abroad. John Robinson began as chargé d´affaires in Sweden, later resident.
