Small 4to. (12), (1)-378, (2) pp. Lacking 1 page (Errata leaf) at the end. Engraved extra title (mounted to inner cover), title in red and black with woodcut figurative vignette (somewhat yellowed), 25 woodcut illustrations in the text, of which 6 full page (all). Lacking 1 folding engraved map.
Contemporary half vellum, somewhat worn, back cover somewhat loose in spine. Discoloured dark green edges. Some light damptains in margins, later marginal annotations in pencil on pp. 70, 80-81, 91, 184-85 and 209.
