Contemporary soft vellum, worn, spine with damages, inner doublures with some damages. Title and two last leaves mended in the margins. Title dampstained and spotted, some leaves dampstained in outer margin. Minor foxing. A few inkspots. Bookplate of Seved Tegefors.
First Aldine edition. Pontano (1429-1503), Italian humanist, diplomat, scholar, and poet. This volume contains Pontanus´ Latin translation of the Greek text of Ptolemay´s "Centum sententiae", with Pontanus´ extensive commentary, as well as Pontanus´ astronomical works "De rebus coelestis" and "De luna imperfectus", and other short philosophical texts.
