Original green cloth gilt, somewhat worn, 1 spine damaged. Partly foxed and spotted. 13 volumes.
Consists of: Nicholas Nickleby, Little Dorrit, The Old Curiosity Shop, The Uncommercial Traveller, Christmas Books, American Notes and Pictures from ItalySketches by Boz, Our Mutual Friend, Bleak House, Edwin Drood and other Histories, Christmas Stories, Martin Chuzzlewit, Dombey and Son.
The Household Edition, begun the year after Dickens´s death, Chapman & Hall commissioned new illustrations and included Forster´s Life of Dickens as the final volume. Issued in 22 cloth-bound volumes.
