Blue half calf, partly worn, gilt spines. With stamp "Sold by Quekett Microscopical club" on flyleaves and gilt stamped on spines. 5 vols.
Includes writings and illustrations on insects, plants, birds, animals, geologi, lichens etc.
The Linnean Society was founded by amongst others Sir Josehph Banks and James Edward Smith in 1788 and is housed in Burlington house in London. In 1783 Smith purchased Carl von Linné´s botanical and zoological collections.
Sold as a lot, not subject to return.
