A PAIR OF ARMORIAL PLATES, enamelled and gilt with the coat of arms of the Swedish family Grill, an asymmetric rococo-shield flanked by acanthus, the rim with four partly gilt rocailles and leaf-vines, Qianlong period (1736-1795), diameter ca 23 cm
NOTE:
Designed by Christian Precht (1706-1779) for Claes and Anna Grill and ordered through the Swedish East India Company during the 1740´s. Compare with similar plates in the collection of Nordiska Museet in Stockholm and Göteborgs Stadsmuseum in Gothenburg.
Displayed at Nybrogatan 32 Stockholm 24th-30th of November.
